Audio and video compression!
+
Data compression, and audio/video coding. Some intro to information theory, codes, and compression. Then we'll talk about how MP3 and AC3 work, and how MPEG-2, DVDs, Blu-rays, and HDTV work -- including colorspaces, chroma subsampling, Huffman codes, the discrete cosing transform, and the amazing data-saving technique of blurring. I'll do some demos.
